Itinerary of Machu Picchu Full Day Tour by train
Day 1 - The Lost City Of Machu Picchu
Our guide will meet you at your hotel lobby at 06:30 - 07:00 (6:30 - 7am).
After that we will have an hour and a half trip to the small city Ollantaytambo. From there we will start our journey by train to Aguas Calientes.
During the way, we will pass through stunning views of fertile river valleys and snow-capped mountains with Incan agricultural terraces along their slopes. We will follow along the riverbed of the sacred Vilcanota river to the subtropical jungle.
After arriving to Aguas Calientes we will take 25 minutes ride by bus to the gates of Machu Picchu. There we will meet a local guide, who will accompany us.
The guide will lead the group on a 2 hour tour around this mysterious citadel. Meanwhile will highlight its most impressive areas, explain their significance and history. During the tour you will explore the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana solar clock and the House of the Chosen Women.
Later you will have a free time to explore the archeological site independently and take pictures.
Thereafter we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes. There you will have time for lunch (independently).
In conclusion, from Aguas Calientes we will take the return train to Ollantaytambo station or Poroy station in Cusco. There will be a bus to Cusco waiting for us.
The Machu Picchu Full Day Tour will end in Plaza Regocijo (a block far from the Plaza de Armas) at 21:55 (9:55pm).
